NC State University Engineering Team Tests NewCareTec Sensors
PROJECT: Non-Vision Human Presence Detection
A team of senior engineering students at North Carolina State University (NCSU) successfully built a prototype NewCareTec enhanced safety solution for residential buildings. The project is part of the students’ required senior design course, and the team helped NewCareTec characterize sensor configurations as it applies to monitoring stairwell safety, specifically fall detection. The team was sponsored and mentored by NewCareTec leadership.
NC State University Engineering Team Demonstrates a NewCareTec Solution
PROJECT: Listening for calls of HELP and Alerting Responders
A team of senior engineering students at North Carolina State University (NCSU) successfully demonstrated a NewCareTec enhanced safety solution for senior living facilities. The project was part of the students’ required senior design course, and the team achieved a 2nd place finish in its group at the Design Day finale. The team was sponsored and mentored by NewCareTec leadership including Jim Meckstroth, Dennis Ewald, and Zaher Mashal. Congratulations to the team and many thanks for their excellent engineering work!
