NewCareTec’s SafeAlert™ stairwell safety solution is ready to gather community data to validate our edge AI sensor performance. We are therefore looking for several residential community partners to participate in a No Cost, No Obligation Pilot Evaluation of the SafeAlert™ solution.

We are looking for the multi-story building(s) located in or around the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area of North Carolina.

Pilot Evaluation Purpose and Scope

The SafeAlert™ Pilot Evaluation will provide NewCareTec with performance data on our edge AI sensor and will demonstrate the sensor’s ability to autonomously and continually observe stairwell usage and provide safety incident detection.

The collected data on stairwell traffic and any safety incidents will be used only by NewCareTec to validate and fine tune its edge AI incident detection inferencing sensor. The NewCareTec Stairwell Safety solution cannot recognize any individual nor forward any data that could be used to identify a person. Privacy is an essential feature of the system.

What to Expect

  1. A site survey will assess potential locations for SafeAlert™ sensors to ensure optimal coverage of monitored stairwells. Specific locations of sensors will be subject to approval by the community partner.

  2. NewCareTec will install all equipment (sensors and gateway) at no cost to the community partner.

  3. Any safety incident (e.g. fallen, fallen self-recovery, stranded, stranded self-recovery) detected by the SafeAlert™ sensor will be communicated via private wireless transmission to a NewCareTec provided gateway.

  4. NewCareTec will share Pilot Evaluation data with the community partner.

  5. NewCareTec will remove all equipment (sensors and gateway) at no cost to the community partner.

Partner Profile

Pilot Evaluation partner commitment is minimal (with no impact expected on staff or residents).

    • Approve locations for battery-powered SafeAlert™ sensors in the monitored stairwell(s)

    • Placement and power outlet for the NewCareTec provided wireless gateway

    • A community-based contact for coordination and information sharing
